Mumbai, Feb 24 : Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Sharad Pawar on Thursday denounced the arrest of Maharashtra Minister and party colleague Nawab Malik and said this had happened as he was openly attacking the Modi government. Pawar told the media that he was expecting Malik to be arrested. “I was expecting that action would be taken against him.” He said that in the current political scenario, any person who talks against the BJP or its leaders would be targeted by central agencies. This, he said, “is harmful for democracy”. Malik was arrested by the Enforcement Dorectorate for his alleged involvement in a money laundering case. ST NV MR
