10 Killed in Lakhimpur Road Accident After Truck Hits Magic Vehicle

Lakhimpur Kheri, May 18 (Udaipur Kiran) — Ten people were killed in a tragic road accident in Uttar Pradesh’s Lakhimpur Kheri district on Monday morning after a speeding truck collided head-on with a Magic vehicle near Adlishpur village on the Pilibhit-Basti Highway.

According to police, the accident took place around 7:30 am when the Magic vehicle was travelling from Lakhimpur towards Sisaiya. A truck coming from the opposite direction reportedly lost control and crashed into the vehicle.

The impact of the collision was severe, causing the Magic vehicle to drag nearly 10 feet ahead. All 10 occupants, including two women, died in the accident. Several passengers got trapped between the seats, while two people were thrown onto the road due to the force of the crash.

Local residents rushed to the spot and informed the police. Rescue operations were immediately started. One injured person was shifted to a nearby hospital and later referred to the district hospital, but he also died during treatment.

Police said the truck driver fled from the spot after the accident. The truck has been seized and a search operation is underway to trace the driver.

Khmaria Circle Officer Shamsher Bahadur Singh said the bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination. The accident site is located around 40 km from the district headquarters.

Dr Amit Kumar Singh, Superintendent of CHC Khmaria, said the bodies of two women and seven men were initially brought to the hospital, while another seriously injured man later succumbed to injuries.
