Islamabad : Pakistan has appealed to its citizens abroad to extend help to rehabilitate the people badly affected by heavy rains.

The condition in Pakistan, particularly Balochistan, Sindh and Punjab provinces, is very bad. More than 900 people have died and huge damage caused to residential areas and roads. The heaviest rains have caused damage to agricultural land and cattle. During the last three days, the condition in Balochistan has worsened further. The rains have damaged 710 kms roads and 18 bridges. The threat of floods is also increasing in Khaiber Pakhtunkhwa province.
Minister for Climate Changes Sherry Rehman stated that the unprecedented rains this year have caused damage to the extent that the Pakistan Government will not be able to bear the cost of rehabilitation. Several people have been rendered homeless and many others are facing the threats. She has appealed to the international community to extend help in the form of tents, mosquito nets, beds, food, and other essential items. The monetary help can be deposited in Pakistan’s State Bank of Pakistan.
