Over 650 Students, Faculty Members Participate in International Yoga Day Programme at Sunrise Group of Institutions

UDAIPUR, June 20, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran) : A grand and inspiring programme was organised at Sunrise Group of Institutions, Udaipur, on the occasion of International Yoga Day. Held with the theme of “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” the event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, teachers and staff members, who pledged to make yoga an integral part of their daily lives.

National yoga gurus Ashok Jain, Puran Rathore and Ms. Amisha Pariyani conducted various yoga asanas, pranayama and meditation sessions. They also explained the scientific, physical and mental benefits of yoga in detail. They said yoga is not merely a form of exercise but a way of life that helps maintain balance between the body, mind and soul, enabling individuals to remain healthy and positive.

Chairman Harish Rajani said yoga is a priceless heritage of India’s ancient culture that has now been accepted across the world. He stated that yoga provides a healthy body, a calm mind and a disciplined lifestyle. He urged students and employees to practise yoga daily and contribute towards building a healthy society and a strong nation.

Director Mohit Rajani said the purpose of education is not limited to imparting academic knowledge but also includes the overall development of students’ personalities. He said yoga enhances concentration, self-confidence and mental strength, helping students achieve success in every sphere of life.

Director Praful Rajani said that in today’s competitive era, physical and mental health are the greatest assets.

Programme coordinator and Principal of Physiotherapy, Dr. Himanshu Sharma, said that both yoga and physiotherapy aim to improve health and enhance the body’s functional capacity. He stated that yoga postures are highly effective in strengthening muscles, improving flexibility, maintaining spinal health and preventing various lifestyle-related diseases.

The trainers conducted sessions on Tadasana, Vrikshasana, Trikonasana, Bhujangasana and Vajrasana, along with Anulom-Vilom, Kapalbhati and Bhramari pranayama. Participants were also guided on achieving mental peace and positive energy through meditation. Students and faculty members performed the yoga practices with enthusiasm and discipline.

Around 500 students and 150 faculty members from the Physiotherapy, Dental, Pharmacy, Paramedical and Nursing faculties of Sunrise Group of Institutions attended the programme.

The event concluded with the resolve to promote the message of “Do Yoga, Stay Healthy” and work towards a Healthy India, Strong India and Yoga-centric India.
