Nitish Kumar Vacates Official Residence on Buddha Purnima

Patna, May 1: Bihar’s Chief Minister’s official residence at ‘1 Aney Marg’, a significant political hub in the state, witnessed a historic change on Friday. Former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar officially vacated the residence, marking the end of an era that lasted nearly two decades.

Kumar, who was elected to the Rajya Sabha, resigned from his position as Chief Minister after deciding to enter Parliament. Speculations about vacating this prestigious bungalow had intensified after the leadership of the state was handed over to Samrat Chaudhary. Today, that change has finally been realized.

On the auspicious occasion of Buddha Purnima, Kumar began the process of moving to his new residence at ‘7 Circular Road’. Trucks and vehicles have been busy transporting his personal belongings since morning, symbolizing a well-planned transfer in light of the day’s religious and cultural significance.

During his long tenure as Chief Minister, ‘1 Aney Marg’ was not just a residence; it was the focal point of governance in Bihar. From important administrative decisions to major political events, this bungalow has witnessed pivotal moments in the state’s recent history.

Seeing the belongings being moved out symbolizes the closing of an important chapter. Kumar’s new residence at ‘7 Circular Road’ was allocated to him during this transition.

Although the moving process had been ongoing for several days, it gained momentum on Friday. Personal furniture, documents, books, and essential items were transferred under strict administrative supervision, ensuring the move was completed efficiently and safely. Sources indicate that Kumar is likely to settle into his new residence by late evening.

Once all arrangements are finalized, he will officially relocate to ‘7 Circular Road’, marking not just a physical move but the beginning of a new phase in his political journey.
