Udaipur, 18 July – A long-awaited rail connection between Udaipur and Chandigarh has officially been approved. The new train service will operate twice a week in both directions, providing a major travel convenience for residents of the Udaipur division and travelers heading to North India.

Immediate Approval from the Railway Minister
Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator Gulabchand Kataria confirmed the news. He said that he had recently met Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in Delhi and requested a direct train between Udaipur and Chandigarh. The proposal was instantly approved, and the train schedule has already been finalized.
Train Schedule and Numbers

Train No. 20989 will depart Udaipur at 4:05 PM and reach Chandigarh at 9:50 AM the next day.

Train No. 20990 will leave Chandigarh at 11:20 AM and reach Udaipur at 5:30 AM the following day.

Rana Pratap Nagar (Udaipur), Mavli Junction, Kapasan, Chanderiya, Bhilwara, Bijainagar, Ajmer, Kishangarh, Phulera, Jaipur, Gandhinagar Jaipur, Dausa, Bandikui, Rajgarh, Alwar, Rewari, Jhajjar, Rohtak, Jind, Narwana, Kaithal, Kurukshetra, and Ambala Cantt.
