Mini MD Drug Factory Busted in Pratapgarh, ₹1.60 Crore Seized

Jaipur, February 14 (Udaipur Kiran): In a major crackdown under Operation Chakravyuh, Pratapgarh district police have dismantled a mini factory manufacturing illegal MD (Mephedrone) drugs and exposed an inter-state narcotics racket.

The action was taken against drug traffickers operating from a makeshift setup in a hut located in an isolated agricultural field.

₹1.60 Crore Worth Drugs Seized from Farm Hut

Acting under the direction of District Superintendent of Police B. Aditya, the Hathunia police station team conducted a raid on the Asawata-Kulthana road. Inside a cement-sheet hut constructed in a deserted field, police found a modern mini setup for manufacturing narcotic substances.

During the operation, 1 kilogram and 897 grams of illegal MD were seized. The estimated international market value of the recovered drugs is around ₹1.60 crore. Equipment used in drug manufacturing, including an induction cooker, mixer, heater and electronic weighing scale, was also recovered from the spot.

Two Arrested, Links to Gujarat and MP

Police arrested two accused from the site after surrounding the area. The arrested individuals have been identified as Murad Khan Pathan (28), a resident of Asawata in Pratapgarh, and Mohammad Juned (48), a resident of Mehsana in Gujarat.

During preliminary questioning, it emerged that the accused had been preparing drugs at the location for the past two days. However, two other suspects — Jeevan Anjana from Pratapgarh and Sharikh alias Jerry from Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh — managed to escape under the cover of darkness. Police teams are conducting raids to trace them.

Loaded Pistol, Vehicles Recovered

Apart from narcotics, illegal arms were also recovered during the raid. A loaded pistol along with five live cartridges was seized from the possession of the main accused, Murad Khan. Police also took into custody a Yamaha motorcycle and a car allegedly used in the trafficking operation.

Murad Khan has previously been involved in serious criminal cases, including attempt to murder and offences under the NDPS Act.

Police Team Led the Operation

The operation was carried out under the guidance of Additional Superintendent of Police Gajendra Singh Jodha and Circle Officer Gajendra Singh Rao. Station House Officer Udayveer Singh led the raid, with key roles played by ASI Manohar Singh, Head Constable Suresh Kumar, Constables Mukesh, Girish Chand, Bhagwati Lal and driver Ganpat.
