Mixed Trends in Gold and Silver Prices This Week

New Delhi, February 14: This week has seen mixed trends in the prices of gold and silver. Gold prices increased by approximately ₹700, while silver saw a decline of around ₹2,500. According to the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA), the price of 24-carat gold rose to ₹152,765 per 10 grams, up from ₹152,078 per 10 grams last week.

During the review period, the price of 22-carat gold increased from ₹139,303 per 10 grams to ₹139,933 per 10 grams. The price of 18-carat gold also saw a rise, moving from ₹114,059 per 10 grams to ₹114,574 per 10 grams.

On the other hand, silver prices dropped by ₹2,496, settling at ₹242,433 per kilogram, compared to ₹244,929 per kilogram last week. Fluctuations were observed in the prices of both gold and silver throughout the week.

In the spot market, 24-carat gold reached a high of ₹157,322 per 10 grams on February 11, while the lowest price recorded was ₹152,751 per 10 grams on February 13. Silver peaked at ₹266,449 per kilogram on February 11, with a low of ₹242,433 per kilogram noted on February 13.

International markets also experienced significant fluctuations in gold and silver prices. On COMEX, gold closed above $5,000 per ounce at $5,046.30, while silver ended at $77.96 per ounce.

The minor changes in prices following a significant surge in gold and silver indicate a stabilization trend. Over the past year, gold has yielded returns of over 70%, while silver has seen returns exceeding 140%.
