New Delhi, June 7: Government oil companies have once again increased the prices of LPG gas cylinders. The price of a 14.2-kilogram domestic LPG cylinder has been raised by ₹29, bringing the new price in New Delhi to ₹942, up from ₹913.
This new price will take effect from today, June 7. Prior to this, on June 1, the price of a 19-kilogram commercial LPG cylinder was also increased by ₹42.
Over the past five months, there has been a significant rise in the price of commercial LPG cylinders. In February, the price increased by ₹49, followed by a ₹115 hike in March. April saw the largest increase, with prices reaching ₹993 per cylinder, and further adjustments were made on June 1.
The rise in prices has been attributed to increased fuel and transportation costs. Additionally, oil marketing companies have raised the price of 5-kilogram free trade LPG (FTL) cylinders by ₹11.
Recently, the price of compressed natural gas (CNG) in New Delhi and surrounding areas also saw an increase of ₹2 per kilogram. Since May 15, there have been four adjustments resulting in a total increase of ₹6 per kilogram for CNG.
On May 19, petrol prices were raised by ₹0.86 per liter and diesel by ₹0.83 per liter, bringing the prices in the national capital to ₹98.64 per liter for petrol and ₹91.58 per liter for diesel. This followed another increase on May 15, where petrol and diesel prices rose by ₹3 per liter and CNG by ₹2 per kilogram.
