Udaipur : Mehjabeen Magar, who has been working in the field of education for nearly two decades, was honoured with the ‘Excellence in Teaching’ Award for her contribution to education and handwriting improvement among schoolchildren.
The award was presented during an Eid Milad programme organised by the Dawoodi Bohra Jamaat Udaipur at Burhani Masjid in Kharol Colony on Sunday. Around 30 men and women from the Bohra community who have made a mark in different fields through their skills and achievements were honoured during the programme.
Has trained more than 12,000 children
Mehjabeen Magar has been working for nearly two decades to improve children’s handwriting and strengthen their English language skills. She has trained more than 12,000 schoolchildren, helping them understand the importance of handwriting and language skills through regular practice and training.
As the director of the NIEL institution, she has developed more than 20 handwriting improvement books, written in her own handwriting. She has also authored four books covering four levels of English language learning for children of different age groups.
Mehjabeen said that along with the mother tongue Hindi, basic English language skills are important for children. According to her, English helps children compete on a wider platform and can provide access to better employment opportunities.
The organisers said the award recognised her sustained contribution to education and her efforts to develop essential skills among children.
