Udaipur, August 25: A spiritual discourse on devotion, surrender and unwavering faith was held at Narayan Seva Sansthan during the ongoing Shiva Katha ‘Bholenath Ke Charanon Mein Apnon Se Apni Baat’.
Addressing devotees from the Vyas Peeth on Tuesday, Sansthan President Prashant Agrawal narrated inspirational episodes from the lives of King Ambarish and Sage Durvasa, King Rantidev, King Nriga and the story of Gajendra Moksha.
Gajendra Moksha highlights power of surrender
Explaining the Gajendra Moksha episode, Agrawal said Gajendra, the powerful king of elephants, lived with his herd in the forests around Trikuta Mountain in the Kshira Sagar. Proud of his strength, prosperity and large family, Gajendra once went to a lake with his herd.
A powerful crocodile caught his leg while he was in the water. A prolonged struggle followed, but Gajendra gradually became weaker while the crocodile gained strength in the water. His fellow elephants eventually left him.
When Gajendra realised that he could no longer depend on his own strength, he called upon Lord Vishnu with complete devotion. Hearing the sincere prayer of his devotee, Lord Vishnu arrived and used the Sudarshan Chakra to kill the crocodile and free Gajendra.
Agrawal also narrated the previous-life stories associated with Gajendra and the crocodile, explaining that both ultimately attained liberation through divine grace.
‘Surrender connects us with divine strength’
Agrawal said that no matter how difficult a crisis may be, a person who does not forget God in adverse circumstances will always have his sincere prayer heard.
He said ego creates an illusion of personal strength, while surrender connects a person with a higher power.
Divyang beneficiaries share experiences
During the programme, Agrawal interacted with Divyang beneficiaries including Krish Gupta from Ghazipur, Zuber from Shahjahanpur, Yuvank from Agra and Trimohan from Uttarakhand.
The beneficiaries shared their experiences of receiving support from the institution and moving towards self-reliance. Their accounts added a message of service and compassion to the spiritual discourse.
Hundreds of devotees attended the Katha, with the venue reverberating with chants of “Har Har Mahadev.”
