Bhopal, April 5, 2025 – In a potential festive gesture, the Madhya Pradesh government may transfer the April installment of the Mukhyamantri Ladli Behna Yojana earlier than usual. Beneficiaries are eagerly awaiting the 23rd monthly installment of ₹1,000, and speculation is mounting that the payment may arrive before Ramnavami on April 6.

Early Installment Expected Before Ramnavami
Traditionally, the installment under the Ladli Behna Yojana is deposited on the 10th of every month. However, considering the upcoming auspicious Hindu festivals, including Durgashtami (April 5) and Ramnavami (April 6), it is expected that the government may release the funds in advance to bring festive cheer to the scheme’s beneficiaries.
In the past, such early disbursements have taken place. For instance, last year, the 11th installment was credited on April 5 during Gudi Padwa celebrations. However, as of now, no official confirmation has been issued by the state administration regarding the early release.
Will the Monthly Amount Be Increased?
During the recent state assembly budget session, Congress MLA Pratap Grewal questioned whether the government would resume registration for the scheme and increase the monthly assistance to ₹3,000, as had been previously demanded by several political leaders and women’s groups.
Women and Child Development Minister Nirmala Bhuria, however, clarified that there is no current proposal to increase the amount or include new beneficiaries in the scheme. This clarification comes as a disappointment for many women who were hoping for an enhanced payout under the flagship welfare initiative.
Current Status of Beneficiaries
According to official figures:
-
35 women have been declared ineligible for the scheme so far.
-
15,735 women have tragically passed away since the scheme’s inception.
-
No new registrations have been accepted since November 2023, and the current beneficiary count remains unchanged.
Despite the lack of updates on inclusion and enhancement, the scheme continues to be one of the most impactful social welfare programs in the state, offering financial assistance to millions of low-income women.
