
Kota : In yet another suicide case at a coaching institute in Kota, a 17-year-old girl from UP committed suicide on Monday by consuming poisonous chemicals. The girl was a student of Reliable Coaching Institute, which is affiliated with Allen Career Institute.
According to police, the girl, identified as Priyam Singh, was a resident of Mau in UP. She was living in a hostel in Suwalka area of Kota. She had been preparing for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) at the coaching institute for the past one and a half years.
Police said that Priyam was found vomiting outside the coaching institute around 3:30 pm on Monday. She was rushed to a private hospital in Talwandi where she died during treatment around 6:30 pm.
Police said that they are investigating the matter and will record the statements of Priyam’s family members and friends.
This is the 19th suicide case at a coaching institute in Kota in the past eight months. In January, 18 students from different coaching institutes in Kota had committed suicide.
The suicides have raised concerns about the pressure that students face while preparing for competitive exams.
