New Delhi, September 22 (Udaipur Kiran) : The Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) has issued a statement regarding recent allegations of irregularities involving players in the Delhi Premier League (DPL). These claims surfaced following a sting operation by a media outlet, which featured former Ranji player Rachit Bhatia making serious accusations of match-fixing.
In its statement, the DDCA clarified that these allegations have not yet been substantiated, and no competent authority has confirmed them. The association has shared relevant information with the appropriate officials for a thorough investigation.
The DDCA emphasized that it is important not to jump to conclusions about any individual, player, or franchise based solely on unproven allegations. “Given the seriousness of the matter, the DDCA has written to the relevant authorities and shared the information that has come to its attention, requesting that the investigation be conducted through proper and established procedures,” the statement read.
The association maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards any activities that compromise the integrity of cricket and has pledged full cooperation with any investigations conducted by the competent authorities. It also highlighted the importance of distinguishing between allegations and proven facts, allowing the proper processes to unfold.
These statements come in the wake of allegations made during the seventh match of the third edition of the DPL, held at the Arun Jaitley Stadium between Central Delhi Kings and North Delhi Strikers. In the sting operation, Bhatia appeared unaware that he was being recorded and allegedly claimed to have shared critical information well before the toss. He also asserted that he had fixed certain matches during the 2025 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and was involved in spot-fixing during the 2018-19 season of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The DDCA reiterated that any necessary actions will be based on the findings of the relevant authorities and in accordance with applicable rules and laws.
