New Delhi, September 22 (Udaipur Kiran) : A state-of-the-art robotics laboratory has been inaugurated at IIT Madras, marking a significant advancement in the field of construction technology. Launched on September 22, 2026, the laboratory, developed with a financial investment of ₹3.30 crores through CSR collaboration with Bechtel India, aims to integrate robotics and automation into the construction and infrastructure sectors.
The facility is designed to foster research that extends beyond theoretical applications, focusing on real-world construction projects. Researchers and students will work on developing technologies that can be practically implemented, ensuring that innovations are tested and demonstrated in actual scenarios.
The initiative is expected to provide students and researchers with hands-on experience addressing industry challenges.
