Jaipur, April 4 (Udaipur Kiran): Tensions in the Middle East escalated after Iran claimed it carried out a drone attack on an Israeli-linked commercial vessel in the Strait of Hormuz, causing a fire onboard.
According to Iranian state media, a commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy confirmed that the attack targeted a ship allegedly linked to Israel. The vessel, identified as “MSC Ishyka,” was reportedly hit by a drone, leading to a blaze. However, there has been no official response from Israel so far.
Reports also indicated that the vessel was associated with Israeli ownership but was sailing under a foreign flag. Maritime tracking data suggested that the ship was located near Bahrain’s Khalifa Bin Salman Port around the time of the incident.
The development has further heightened tensions across the Middle East, where geopolitical strains remain high.
Meanwhile, the Government of India confirmed that an Indian-flagged LPG tanker, “Green Saanvi,” safely transited through the Strait of Hormuz carrying 46,650 metric tonnes of cargo along with 25 crew members. Authorities stated that multiple Indian vessels have successfully navigated the route in recent weeks.
The Strait of Hormuz remains a critical global shipping route, and any disruption in the region continues to draw international attention.
