New Delhi, August 24: North Delhi Strikers secured a 39-run victory against Outer Delhi Warriors in the 38th match of the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2026. The match took place on Sunday at Arun Jaitley Stadium.
Despite winning only 4 out of 10 matches, the Strikers finished fifth in the points table and were already out of the title race. This match marked the end of their season. In contrast, Outer Delhi Warriors concluded their league matches in fourth place with 5 wins out of 10.
Batting first after losing the toss, North Delhi Strikers scored 166 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. The opening pair of captain Sarthak Ranjan and Yash Dabas added 21 runs for the first wicket. Sarthak scored 20 runs off 10 balls before returning to the pavilion. Dabas then partnered with Yash Bhatia to add 31 runs for the second wicket in just 10 balls, pushing the team past the half-century mark. Dabas scored 28 runs off 8 balls, hitting 3 sixes and 2 fours.
The team lost 3 wickets for just 57 runs, but Yash Bhatia, along with Gaurav Sabharwal, added 39 runs for the fourth wicket and then partnered with Kaushal Suman to add 49 runs for the fifth wicket, helping the team reach a challenging total. Yash Bhatia scored 53 runs off 38 balls, including 3 sixes and 3 fours, while Kaushal contributed 33 runs off 26 balls. For the Warriors, Harsh Tyagi took 3 wickets for just 15 runs, while Siddhant Sharma, Navdeep Saini, Anant Sareen, and Samar Kohar each claimed one wicket.
In response, Outer Delhi Warriors managed only 127 runs, losing 7 wickets in their allotted overs. Priyansh Arya and Yajus Sharma opened the innings with a partnership of 25 runs. Priyansh scored 15 runs before getting out, while Yajus contributed 14 runs. The Warriors struggled, losing 6 wickets for just 66 runs. Harsh Tyagi then partnered with Shivam Sharma to add 25 runs for the seventh wicket and with Siddhant Sharma for the eighth wicket, adding 36 runs, but they could not secure a win. Harsh remained unbeaten at 54 runs off 33 balls, hitting 5 sixes and 1 four. For the Strikers, Parikshit Sahrawat took the most wickets with 3, while Praneet Tiwari claimed 2.
