Bucharest, November 4 (Udaipur Kiran): India and Romania have agreed to strengthen cooperation in trade, investment, and supply chain development during a bilateral meeting held in Bucharest between Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Jitin Prasada and Romanian Foreign Minister Oana-Silvia Țoiu on Tuesda

Both sides also set a goal to finalise the India–European Union (EU) Free Trade Agreement (FTA) within this year.
According to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the discussions focused on enhancing collaboration in sectors such as energy, engineering, pharmaceuticals, and ceramics. The two sides also agreed on measures to create a favourable environment for investors and improve market access.
During the meeting, economic relations between the two nations were reviewed. India’s exports to Romania crossed USD 1.03 billion in FY 2024–25, while total bilateral trade reached around USD 2.98 billion in 2023–24.
The discussions also highlighted the need to diversify supply chains, simplify standards and testing procedures, and promote production partnerships. Both nations agreed to maintain high-level engagements and establish a regular dialogue framework to further facilitate trade and investment cooperation.
