Udaipur, October 3, 2026: A two-day inter-college Powerlifting and Weightlifting competition began at Pacific University with enthusiasm and sporting spirit. The competition is being organised at the Power Health Centre, Meera Park, Udaipur, with students from various colleges participating enthusiastically.
International and National-Level Players Attend
Dr Hemraj Chaudhary, Secretary of Mohanlal Sukhadia University, and Kamlesh Sharma, President of the Rajasthan Weightlifting Association, attended the event as chief guests.
International powerlifting player Alisha of the Railway Sports Board, international Asian champion player Divyansh Soni and Commonwealth champion player Meer Soni were present as special guests.
On the occasion, Dr Neelam Yadav, Teerthpal Singh, Dr Narendra Sharma, Chandresh Soni, Jai Singh and Girish Upadhyay of the PAHER University Sports Board welcomed the guests by presenting them with turbans and traditional stoles.
80 Powerlifters Participate on First Day
Organising Secretary Anukraman Singh said 80 male and female powerlifters from the university participated in the Powerlifting event on the first day. The players displayed their sporting talent by performing strongly across different weight categories.
He said the Weightlifting and Best Physique competitions will be organised from 10 am on October 1, the second day of the competition.
The guests interacted with the participating players and encouraged them. Speakers said sports play an important role in developing discipline, self-confidence, determination and physical fitness among students. They encouraged the players to perform their best in the competition while maintaining sporting spirit.
