Gold Prices Surge Over ₹2,000 This Week, Silver Crosses ₹2.2 Lakh

New Delhi, July 25: Global instability has led to a significant rise in gold and silver prices this week, with gold increasing by over ₹2,000 and silver by more than ₹6,000. According to the India Bullion Jewellers Association (IBJA), the price of 24-carat gold has risen by ₹2,622 to reach ₹1,43,781 per 10 grams, up from ₹1,41,159 per 10 grams previously.

The price of 22-carat gold has also seen an increase, now standing at ₹1,31,703 per 10 grams, compared to ₹1,29,302 per 10 grams earlier. Meanwhile, 18-carat gold is priced at ₹1,07,836 per 10 grams, up from ₹1,05,869 per 10 grams.

This week, the lowest price for gold was recorded at ₹1,41,915 per 10 grams during the morning session on July 20, while the highest price reached ₹1,45,557 per 10 grams on July 23.

Silver prices have also surged, now at ₹2,22,721 per kilogram, an increase of ₹6,974 from ₹2,15,474 per kilogram. The highest price for silver this week was ₹2,26,238 per kilogram on July 22, while the lowest was ₹2,19,556 per kilogram on July 24.

The IBJA releases gold and silver prices twice daily, in the morning and evening sessions. Internationally, gold is priced at approximately $4,055 per ounce, while silver is around $58 per ounce.

Experts attribute the rise in gold and silver prices to increasing global instability, particularly following the U.S.-Iran conflict. They further noted that the upcoming decision on interest rates by the U.S. Federal Reserve will likely influence gold prices in the coming week.
