Jaipur, June 5 — Jaipur International Airport faced major disruption in international flight operations on Wednesday as SpiceJet’s Dubai-bound flight SG-57 was delayed by nearly 16 hours, leaving passengers frustrated and stranded at the terminal. The corresponding inbound flight from Dubai, SG-58, also failed to arrive on time, compounding the chaos.

Morning Flight Fails to Arrive
Flight SG-58 from Dubai was originally scheduled to land in Jaipur at 7:55 AM, but has yet to reach the city. Airport officials are now expecting the flight to arrive by late evening, though no official confirmation on the exact timing has been provided.
Dubai Departure Rescheduled for After Midnight
SpiceJet flight SG-57, which was set to depart from Jaipur to Dubai at 8:55 AM, has also been severely delayed. As per latest reports, the airline is now aiming for a 1:00 AM departure, almost 16 hours behind schedule. The extended wait has led to mounting frustration among passengers, many of whom had planned connecting flights and work schedules abroad.
Not the First Delay – But the Longest So Far
Sources at Jaipur Airport confirmed that delays on this route are not unprecedented, but a 16-hour delay is the longest in recent months. Frequent fliers have expressed concern over the recurring issues on the Jaipur–Dubai route, especially with SpiceJet operations.
Weather and Technical Glitches to Blame
According to airport insiders, poor weather conditions and technical complications are the likely culprits behind the flight disruption. While no detailed explanation has been officially provided by SpiceJet, aviation officials hinted that a mix of aircraft maintenance issues and regional weather disturbances may have affected the aircraft’s turnaround schedule.
Passengers are advised to check with the airline for updates and stay alert for further rescheduling. With such significant delays, airport authorities and airline representatives are also facing increased pressure to offer timely information and assistance to the affected travellers.
