Udaipur, April 15, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran): In a strong show of commitment to public health, five leading dental colleges in Udaipur jointly organised a National Oral Cancer Awareness Programme. The initiative was conducted in collaboration with the Indian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathologists.

Centred on the theme “I Can, We Can, You Can, India Can,” the programme began at Fateh Sagar Lake, where students and faculty members participated in an awareness rally. The rally aimed to spread key messages on prevention and early detection of oral cancer.
Participants engaged the public through activities such as flash mobs, street plays, and pamphlet distribution, drawing attention to the importance of awareness and early diagnosis.
The next phase of the programme was held at the auditorium of Pacific Dental College and Hospital, Debari, where an academic session was conducted. Participants took part in discussions and knowledge-sharing sessions, and a documentary on oral cancer was also screened to enhance awareness.
The event was coordinated by Dr. Smita Naik, Udaipur Division Coordinator of IAOMP Torch Activity. The programme was attended by Dr. Bhagwandas Rai, Principal of Pacific Dental College and Hospital, along with principals, heads of departments, faculty members, and students from participating institutions.
The initiative highlighted the importance of awareness and early detection of oral cancer and demonstrated how collaborative efforts among institutions can contribute to positive public health outcomes.
