Dungarpur Railway Station to Get a Makeover Under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme

Dungarpur, June 13 (Udaipur Kiran): More than 500 railway stations across the country are being developed under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, including Dungarpur station in the Ajmer division. Under the scheme, Dungarpur railway station will be transformed at a cost of around 18 crores. The design of the station building will reflect the local culture, heritage, and architecture, and will ensure universal accessibility to railway stations for passengers and provide them with high-level passenger amenities.

Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Sunil Kumar Mahla said that the work of transforming this station is being done at a rapid pace under the direction of Divisional Railway Manager Rajiv Dhanakhar. Various construction works are underway at Dungarpur station. Platform shelter and Kota stone flooring are being done on platform number 1, 2, and 3, and the work on the first floor of the station building is in progress. The construction work of the overhead water tank has been completed.

Under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, many development works will be carried out at Dungarpur station at a cost of Rs 18.43 crore.

These include development of circulating area with separate entry and exit gates, separate parking for autos, two-wheelers and four-wheelers, entry hall, coach indication board, better equipped waiting hall with separate toilets for men and women, new VIP lounge, new booking office, improvement of the entire interior of the station building, improvement of the front facade of the station building, additional platform shelter, new toilet blocks and water booths with facilities for the disabled, better signage, better furniture, a 12 meter wide foot over bridge and installation of lifts. With the transformation of Dungarpur railway station in the coming time, passengers will get high-level passenger amenities.
