Raids on Milk Adulteration Unit in Gujarat Lead to Destruction of 1,200 Liters of Contaminated Milk

A raid in Jamnagar uncovered a milk adulteration operation, leading to the destruction of 1,200 liters of contaminated milk and other products.

Jamnagar, September 29 (Udaipur Kiran) : In a significant operation, the Special Operations Group (SOG) of Jamnagar police raided a residential property in Kalavad on Tuesday, resulting in the destruction of approximately 1,200 liters of suspicious adulterated milk, along with 75 kilograms of vegetable ghee and 75 kilograms of milk powder.

The raid was conducted following a tip-off regarding the preparation of adulterated milk at the residence of a suspected trader, Kanjibhai, also known as Kano Depalbhai Malani, located near the Sheetla Mataji temple area in Jalasana village.

This action was initiated under the directives of Nirlept Rai, Deputy Inspector General of Police for the Rajkot Division, and Dr. Ravi Mohan Saini, Superintendent of Police in Jamnagar. They emphasized the need to identify and take legal action against traders involved in adulteration of everyday items.

According to police reports, SOG personnel were patrolling areas under the jurisdiction of Kalavad town and rural police stations when officers Toshifbhai Tayani, Rameshbhai Chavda, and Firozbhai Khafi received information about the suspected milk adulteration.

Subsequently, the police alerted the Food Safety Department, and officials arrived on-site to collect necessary samples of the suspicious milk. The area was sealed off, and the samples were taken into custody for further investigation.

Authorities confirmed that the Food Safety Officer destroyed the remaining adulterated milk, vegetable ghee, and milk powder in a manner that posed no risk to human health or the environment. Legal proceedings against individuals involved in the milk trade are now underway as per the applicable regulations.
