The schools in Delhi were earlier scheduled to reopen from July 1 will now be functional from July 8. However, schools for children upto class 8 would open on July 1. The decision from the Delhi government came after the temperature in the city touched as high as 48 degree celsius for a few weeks. This season has continued since the last two weeks with hot dry winds blowing across different regions in the capital city which has compounded problems for commuters.
It is noteworthy that, the Indian Meteorological Department stated in its All India Weather Warning Bulletin that the heat wave condition is likely to prevail over Delhi with minimum and maximum temperatures reaching around 32 degree celsius and 43 degree celsius respectively. The relative humidity would be around 28 per cent.
