Debate on Digital Health Inequality Held on World Health Day

Udaipur, April 8, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran): On the occasion of World Health Day, a debate competition was organised at Pacific Institute of Medical Sciences, under Sai Tirupati University, Udaipur. The topic of the debate was “Is digitalisation in the health sector increasing gender inequalities?”

The programme was jointly organised by the Gender Champion Committee and the National Service Scheme Cell, based on this year’s theme “Together for Health, Stand with Science.”

Students participated enthusiastically and presented their views both in favour and against the topic. The discussion highlighted key issues related to access to digital health services, equality, and gender disparities. Two teams, each consisting of five participants, took part in the competition.

The judging panel included Dr. Dilip Kumar L, Dr. L. N. Meena, Dr. Ashwini Khairkar, and Dr. Neelima Goyal, who carried out a fair evaluation.

On the same occasion, students also actively participated in a national-level quiz competition organised by the Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine. The quiz was coordinated by Dr. Rajyalakshmi from the Department of Community Medicine.

The Gender Champion Committee was guided by its nodal officers Dr. Srinidhi, Dr. B. J. Pradeep Kumar, Dr. Pooja Singh, and Dr. Avantika Gupta.

The programme concluded with prize distribution by Principal Dr. Suresh Chandra Goyal and Medical Superintendent Dr. Sarita Kant, who appreciated the participants. The event details were shared by NSS Programme Officer Dr. Avantika Gupta and Programme Coordinator Deepak Teli.
