Jaipur, October 28 (Udaipur Kiran) — Under the influence of cyclonic systems active over the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal, Rajasthan’s weather has taken a major turn. The spell of rain that began on Monday continued into Tuesday, bringing down temperatures and marking an early onset of winter-like conditions across several districts. The Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert for 23 districts of the state.
In Jaipur, light rain that began on Monday afternoon continued through the night, making the city noticeably cooler. In Dausa’s Bandikui, showers that started Monday evening lasted until Tuesday morning, resulting in a temperature drop of nearly eight degrees Celsius. The highest rainfall was recorded in Bundi’s Nainwa area, where about 93 mm (nearly four inches) of rain fell, flooding fields and soaking harvested crops. Similarly, heavy rainfall in Udaipur’s Mavli, Ghassa, and nearby villages led to waterlogging in farmlands, causing significant crop damage.
The widespread rain brought down day temperatures sharply across major cities including Kota, Udaipur, Chittorgarh, Ajmer, Alwar, Bhilwara, Karauli, and Dausa — by up to eight degrees Celsius in some areas. In Kota, the maximum temperature was recorded at 21.9°C and the minimum at 21.6°C, meaning the daytime and nighttime cold felt nearly the same. With rain, clouds, and cool winds, a strong winter chill has gripped the state.
According to the Meteorological Department, the rainy spell is expected to continue until October 30, after which the weather is likely to clear.

In addition, light to moderate rainfall was reported in Jaipur, Ajmer, Sawai Madhopur, Dausa, Jhalawar, Banswara, and Karauli districts.
The Meteorological Department has forecast light rain and cloudy weather to persist for the next two days across several parts of Rajasthan.
