Chief Minister Vijay to Visit Madurai for the First Time

Tamil Nadu CM C. Joseph Vijay plans a significant visit to Madurai, focusing on newborn welfare and inaugurating the Gandhi Museum.

Madurai, September 26 (Udaipur Kiran) : Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay is set to visit Madurai on Monday, marking his first trip to the city since taking office. In anticipation of the visit, local police are ramping up security measures. During his visit, the Chief Minister will launch a special initiative for newborns, inaugurate the renovated Gandhi Museum, and may also visit the Meenakshi Amman Temple for prayers.

Authorities are assessing security along the route from the airport to the Government Rajaji Hospital and around the temple, expecting a large influx of devotees due to post-ritual ceremonies at the temple.

The Chief Minister is scheduled to inaugurate the “Thai Maman Gold Ring” scheme at the Government Rajaji Hospital at 12:30 PM. This initiative aims to benefit newborns born in government hospitals. Originally planned for Usilampatti, the event has been relocated to the hospital in Madurai.

While the Chief Minister’s visit to the temple around 4:30 PM is still subject to official confirmation, preparations are already underway by the temple administration and police. Officers are being deployed from Madurai and surrounding areas to manage crowds, control traffic, and secure the pathways between event locations.

The police are also reviewing arrangements near the hospital, anticipating gatherings of the public and members of the Tamilga Vetri Kazhagam party.

The Meenakshi Amman Temple recently held a consecration ceremony on September 17, the first of its kind in 17 years, attracting millions of devotees. Following this, the Mandala Puja has commenced and will continue until October 2, likely increasing the number of visitors during the Chief Minister’s visit.

Preparations at the Rajaji Hospital are also in full swing, with repairs and painting of buildings underway, alongside efforts to fill potholes and lay fresh asphalt on potential travel routes. Once the schedule is finalized, local police will finalize deployment and traffic management plans, ensuring smooth access for patients, devotees, and the general public.
