
Mumbai : The COVID surge was consistent across Maharashtra on Monday as more than 30,000 patients were found at the week’s start.
As per official data, the state tallied 33,470 cases and eight deaths, taking the total caseload and death toll to 69,53,514 and 1,41,647 respectively.
Meanwhile, 29,671 people were cured and discharged during the day across the state, taking the overall count of recoveries to 66,02,103.
The state’s recovery rate significantly dropped to 94.95 per cent and the fatality rate stood at 2.03 per cent .
Presently, Maharashtra has 2,06, 046 active cases, data apprised.
Meanwhile, 31 more Omicron patients were found in Pune district, increasing the toll of such cases to 1,247.
So far, 467 people have been discharged after being cured of the new COVID variant.
