Congress stage agitation in Nashik against PM Modi

Nashik,: Hundreds of Congress party workers staged a ‘Shame Karo Andolan’ agitation at the party head office here on Sunday to protest against the BJP-led central government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his alleged remarks against Maharashtra.

The Congress activists and office-bearers gathered at the Congress Bhavan on M G road and took out a procession from there to the residence of Union Minister of State for Health Dr Bharati Pawar near All India Radio centre. They condemned the central government for insulting Maharashtra and demanded an apology from PM Modi.

However, the city police stopped the protesters on the way near Ashok Stambha area and detained them. A case has been registered at Sarkar Wada police station against them.
