  • 1 tsp Desi ghee

  • ½ tsp cumin seeds (jeera)

  • 4–5 curry leaves (optional, for extra flavor)

  • ½ tsp sendha namak (rock salt, for fasting)

  • 2 cups water

  • Coriander leaves – chopped, for garnish

  • 1 tsp lemon juice

Step-by-Step Method

  1. Prep the Rice: Wash the Samak rice thoroughly and soak it for 10–15 minutes to speed up cooking.

  2. Temper the Spices: In a pan, heat desi ghee. Add cumin seeds and green chillies. Sauté lightly. For extra aroma, toss in curry leaves.

  3. Add the Veggies: Stir in boiled potatoes and carrots. Sauté for 2 minutes to release flavors.

  4. Mix in Peanuts & Rice: Add roasted peanuts and the soaked Samak rice. Mix gently.

  5. Cook: Pour in 2 cups of water and add sendha namak. Cover with a lid and cook on low flame for about 10 minutes.

  6. Finishing Touches: Once the khichdi is thick and soft, turn off the gas. Add lemon juice and garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
