New York, September 8 (Kiran News). Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz clinched the US Open men’s singles title after defeating Italy’s Jannik Sinner in the final at Arthur Ashe Stadium, Billy Jean King National Tennis Center. With this victory, Alcaraz also reclaimed the World No. 1 ranking.

The 21-year-old Spaniard displayed power and precision to outclass Sinner 6-2, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 in a thrilling contest on Sunday. According to The New York Times, second seed Alcaraz dominated the match with his aggressive yet tactical play, overcoming top seed Sinner in four sets.
As per Sky Sports, the high-profile final saw only two-thirds of the 24,000-capacity Arthur Ashe Stadium filled, despite the presence of US President Donald Trump. Thousands of fans remained outside, delayed by strict security checks that pushed the start of the match back by nearly 30 minutes.
During the national anthem, Trump’s appearance on the big screen drew mixed reactions from the crowd. Later, at the end of the first set, loud boos were heard when he was shown again.
Unfazed by the atmosphere, Alcaraz powered through with strong serves and confident groundstrokes, sealing his sixth Grand Slam title.
In his victory speech, Alcaraz expressed gratitude to his supporters: “I see you more than I see my own family. I am very proud of the people around me. Every achievement is because of you. This is your victory as much as mine.”
