Defence Secretary Visits Ladakh to Boost Troop Morale

New Delhi, June 8: Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh visited the challenging terrains of Ladakh to assess military preparedness. His trip included a thorough review of military readiness, border infrastructure, and logistics in the Leh sector.

During his visit, Singh held discussions with senior military commanders at the 14 Corps headquarters. The meeting focused on evaluating the security situation and operational readiness in the region. This three-day visit, from June 5 to 7, saw Singh reach several forward areas in eastern Ladakh, including base camps and the northern glacier region. He interacted directly with soldiers stationed in these high-altitude and difficult geographical conditions to assess their operational readiness.

Singh praised the commitment, courage, and professional efficiency of the troops, emphasizing their crucial role in safeguarding the nation’s borders. He acknowledged the indomitable spirit and dedication of soldiers performing their duties under challenging circumstances. The visit also included a review of various aspects related to the development of infrastructure, military logistics networks, and long-term operational stability in border areas.

Officials briefed him on ongoing development projects and security arrangements in the region. This visit comes at a time when Ladakh remains one of the most sensitive and strategic borders in the country. The Defence Secretary’s trip was not only significant for reviewing military preparedness but also served as an important opportunity to boost the morale of troops stationed at the frontlines.

It is noteworthy that recently, Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh issued a new set of security guidelines from the Ministry of Defence. According to the ministry, this document outlines comprehensive security directives. Singh urged security personnel and officials to ensure effective implementation of these guidelines.
