Banks Closed for 14 Days in May, Here is the Complete List of Holidays

New Delhi : The month of May will begin with holidays. Banks will not be working for 14 days due to holidays in this month. A total of 8 days will be non-working days in banks due to various reasons in different parts of the country. In addition, banks will be closed on 4 Sundays and 2 Saturdays in May. However, the online and ATM services of banks will remain operational during this period.

Banks Closed for 14 Days in May

According to the holiday calendar issued by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), a total of 14 days will be non-working days in banks due to holidays in May. This includes four Sundays and 2 days Saturday weekly holiday. In addition, banks will be closed on six other days due to regional festivals, Lok Sabha elections and national festivals. However, in the era of digital banking, you can still do transactions through online banking and ATMs despite bank holidays.

  • May 1: Banks will be closed across Maharashtra on the occasion of Maharashtra Day.
  • May 5: Banks will not be working due to weekly holiday on Sunday.
  • May 7: Banks will be closed in different states on the third phase of Lok Sabha polling.
  • May 8: Banks will be closed on the occasion of Rabindranath Tagore’s birth anniversary.
  • May 10: Banks will be closed on the occasion of Akshaya Tritiya.
  • May 11: Banks will be closed due to Saturday holiday.
  • May 12: Banks will be closed on the second Sunday due to weekly holiday.
  • May 13: Banks will be closed in different states on the fourth phase of Lok Sabha polling.
  • May 16: Banks will be closed on Sikkim State Day here.
  • May 19: Banks will be closed on the third Sunday due to weekly holiday.
  • May 20: Banks will be closed in different states on the fifth phase of Lok Sabha elections.
  • May 23: Banks will be closed on the occasion of Buddha Purnima.
  • May 25: Banks will be closed due to fourth Saturday holiday.
  • May 26: Banks will be closed on the fourth Sunday due to weekly holiday.
