The Vivobook S 15 S5507 is the first Asus laptop powered by the new Snapdragon X Elite chipset. It is the first machine to run on the new platform and is Windows Copilot+ certified.
The Vivobook S 15 looks very ordinary and is practically indistinguishable from its x86 siblings. The device has a 15-inch display with a 16:9 aspect ratio and a numeric keypad next to the keyboard. The solid touchpad is made of glass.
The S5507 is powered by the Snapdragon X Elite X1E 78,100, which is currently one of the weakest due to its low clock and lack of high overclock. That said, it still has the same 12-core design, but with an Adreno X1 GPU. The S5507 combines 16GB of LPDDR5X memory and a 1TB removable M.2 NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD.
Returning to the display above, we get an OLED panel with a resolution of 2880 x 1620, 120 Hz, 600 nits peak brightness and a response time of 0.2 ms. It currently has one of the most powerful displays in the Snapdragon X Elite family. You also get an FHD webcam with IR illumination for the sliding cover and Windows Hello support.
With 2x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, 2x USB 4.0 Gen 3 Type-C, HDMI 2.1, headphone jack, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4, the S5507 doesn’t miss out on connectivity. This is the largest selection of ports we’ve seen in this line of devices, as most competing models only have USB-C ports.
All this is complemented by a 70 Wh battery that supports fast charging up to 90 W via USB-C.
We are currently working on the Asus Vivobook S 15 S5507 test report. In the meantime, let us know if there are specific things you’d like to test on the new platform.
