Jammu, September 2: Former Director General of Police (DGP) of Jammu and Kashmir, SP Vaid, has commented on various issues including Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statements at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit, India’s 7.8% GDP growth, terrorism, the demolition of Hindu temples in Pakistan, and crimes against women. He sharply criticized Pakistan’s removal of Prime Minister Modi’s image, linking it to Pakistan’s mentality and perceived inferiority complex towards India.
Regarding the alleged edited image from Pakistan’s Prime Minister’s Office, Vaid stated that it reflects Pakistan’s hatred towards India and Prime Minister Modi. He noted the warm meetings between Prime Minister Modi, Chinese President Xi Jinping, and Russian President Vladimir Putin at the SCO summit, highlighting India’s growing global influence. He asserted that removing Modi’s image from a photo does not affect his global reputation, as he addresses broader global issues and humanitarian topics.
On the demolition of a nearly 100-year-old Hindu temple in Pakistan, Vaid remarked that it illustrates the plight of minorities there. He questioned why such incidents would not receive extensive coverage in international media if they occurred in India, emphasizing that the destruction of a temple cannot erase India’s ancient culture, which has faced numerous challenges and will continue to endure.
Vaid supported Prime Minister Modi’s stance at the SCO summit, where he described war as a setback for humanity and called for an end to the Russia-Ukraine conflict. He reiterated that Modi has consistently stated that war is not a solution to problems, noting the detrimental effects of the Russia-Ukraine war on both countries and the world.
