Asahi Songwon Colors surges on acquiring remaining 22% stake in Atlas Life Sciences

Asahi Songwon Colors is currently trading at Rs. 320.05, up by 4.75 points or 1.51% from its previous closing of Rs. 315.30 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 315.30 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 334.00 and Rs. 312.45 respectively. So far 1547 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group ‘B’ stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 348.00 on 23-Feb-2024 and a 52 week low of Rs. 173.00 on 10-May-2023.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 334.00 and Rs. 302.55 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 381.26 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 66.77%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 0.17% and 33.06% respectively.

Asahi Songwon Colors has acquired remaining 6,60,000 shares i.e. 22% stake in Atlas Life Sciences (ALSPL) on March 26, 2024. Pursuant to said acquisition of remaining 22% stake in ALSPL, the Company’s shareholding in ALSPL has increased from 78% (pre-acquisition) to 100% (post acquisition) and ALSPL became wholly owned subsidiary of the Company.

The company in order to add a new growth lever and to create significant value by leveraging combined capabilities and unlock synergies entered into API and Bulk Drug business. The API business of ALSPL has diversified portfolio of more than 6 products with several of them in R&D product pipeline.

Asahi Songwon Colors is in the business of manufacturing pigments. Pigments are basically colourants, adding colour to everything around us, namely ink, paints, plastics, textiles, rubber etc.
