New Delhi, October 23 (Udaipur Kiran) — Driven by strong demand during the festive season and the successful launch of the iPhone 17 series, Apple Inc. achieved its highest-ever quarterly shipments in India, dispatching 4.9 million iPhones between July and September 2025.

According to research firm Omdia, the shipment figure represents a 47% year-on-year growth, marking Apple’s strongest performance to date in the Indian market.
India accounted for 9% of Apple’s total global iPhone shipments this quarter — the largest share ever for the country — highlighting its growing strategic importance in Apple’s global operations.
The iPhone 17 lineup, launched on September 9, played a pivotal role in this record-breaking performance. The series introduced several major camera upgrades, including a 48MP Fusion main camera, a 48MP Fusion ultra-wide lens, and a 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR display with ProMotion technology.
The devices are powered by Apple’s new A19 chip for enhanced performance and feature Ceramic Shield 2 protection, offering three times better scratch resistance compared to previous models.
Analysts expect Apple to post its strongest festive-quarter sales ever in India, forecasting a 28% year-on-year growth in iPhone sales, primarily driven by the early popularity of the iPhone 17 series.
During the April–September 2025 period, Apple exported iPhones worth nearly $10 billion (over ₹88,500 crore) from India — a 75% increase compared to the same period last year, according to industry estimates.
This remarkable growth underscores the success of the ‘Make in India’ initiative and the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, which have encouraged Apple to expand its manufacturing footprint in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
Notably, 78% of iPhones manufactured in India this year were exported to the United States, up from 53% a year earlier, reflecting India’s growing role as a key global production hub for Apple.
