Ajmer Discom Sabla Assistant Engineer Arrested for Taking Bribe of Rs 50,000

Udaipur : Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Udaipur arrested an assistant engineer of Ajmer Discom Sabla district Dungarpur on Monday for taking a bribe of Rs 50,000 from a complainant.

ACB Additional Director General Hemant Priyadarshi said that the complainant had filed a complaint with the ACB’s Udaipur team that the assistant engineer, Rajendra Kumar Sanwariya, was demanding a bribe of Rs 85,000 to pass the bills for the work of installing electric poles under a petty contract in the GSS Sabla area.

Under the supervision of Additional Superintendent of Police Vikram Singh Rathore of the ACB Udaipur unit, the verification of the complaint was done and a trap was laid. The assistant engineer, Rajendra Kumar Sanwariya, was arrested while taking a bribe of Rs 50,000.

The complainant had alleged that Sanwariya was demanding the bribe to pass the bills for the work of installing 20 electric poles in the GSS Sabla area. The complainant had agreed to pay the bribe and had arranged to meet Sanwariya at a hotel in Dungarpur.

The ACB team laid a trap at the hotel and caught Sanwariya red-handed while taking the bribe. He has been booked under the Prevention of Corruption Act and is being questioned.
