Banswara, April 26 (Udaipur Kiran): Violence broke out between two villages in the district after a young man was killed, leading to arson, stone-pelting, and injuries on Sunday night.

According to police, the victim, a resident of Bassi Ada village, had gone to Tamtia village around 8 pm with friends to meet a girl. During the visit, he was allegedly caught by the girl’s family members. He was first assaulted and later killed, with reports indicating his neck was attacked with an axe.
After being informed by the victim’s friends, his family members and villagers from Bassi Ada reached Tamtia village and launched an attack. Around 9 pm, more than 10 houses were set on fire, and vehicles parked outside were also torched. Several people were injured in the violence.
In retaliation, residents of Tamtia village reportedly attacked Bassi Ada village around 11 pm, leading to further clashes, vandalism, and injuries.
Police teams that reached the spot faced resistance, as villagers allegedly pelted stones and blocked entry into the area. Fire brigade vehicles were also stopped from entering Tamtia village.
To control the situation, additional police force was deployed from the district headquarters. Superintendent of Police Sudhir Joshi and other administrative officials reached the spot and remained present till late night.
