Udaipur, December 2 (Udaipur Kiran) | On the occasion of World AIDS Day, the Department of Public Health Dentistry of Pacific Dental College and Hospital, Debari, Udaipur, organised a large awareness campaign at Transport Nagar on Monday. Faculty members and intern doctors of the department actively participated in the programme.

Under the campaign, truck drivers were made aware about HIV/AIDS through red ribbon distribution and awareness talks. Since truck drivers working in the transport sector are considered a high-risk group, they were given practical information about the causes, symptoms, preventive measures, and available treatment facilities related to the infection. The team specially emphasised safe behaviour, regular health check-ups, and the importance of timely treatment.
During the programme, patients at Pacific Dental College and Hospital were also made aware about HIV/AIDS. They were informed about early symptoms, modes of transmission, precautions, and modern treatment methods so that they could help spread awareness in society.
The main objective of the initiative was to remove misconceptions related to HIV/AIDS, reduce discrimination, and build a healthy and informed society. The campaign received a positive response from the local community.
