According to feature trackers, WhatsApp may be testing a new dedicated video memo mode for the camera on both Android and iOS platforms. This feature allows WhatsApp users to record and share video notes directly from the camera interface. According to the claims, Video Notes mode was discovered in the beta version of the app on Android and iOS platforms. This is likely based on the new video notes shortcut button reported in another WhatsApp beta update.

WhatsApp video note mode
According to WABetaInfo’s feature tracker, in addition to the available video and photo options, a special mode for recording video notes could also appear in the camera interface. It is said to have been discovered in the beta version of WhatsApp.
On Android, the Google Play Beta program claims the app version is 2.24.14.14. On iOS, the function is now available on WhatsApp for iOS version 24.13.10.76 and can be registered via the TestFlight app.
WhatsApp introduced Instant Video Notes in 2023, allowing users to record 60-second video messages and send them directly to others in chat. The platform recently started testing new shortcut buttons for quick replies to video notes. We expect the dedicated video notes option in the camera tab to make sharing video notes easier.
Gadget 360 staff cannot confirm whether this feature is available in the beta version of WhatsApp for Android. The change is intended to bring another way to send video notes, another option is to long press the camera icon in certain chats.
Imagine me on WhatsApp
The instant messaging platform recently launched its artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot called Meta AI in India. They are reportedly currently developing an AI feature that will allow users to create their own images on demand. It is speculated that WhatsApp will encourage users to upload a few reference selfies when they use the feature for the first time.
This feature called “Imagine Me” was discovered in the beta version of WhatsApp in Android update 2.24.14.13.
