Jaipur, March 19 – Rajasthan is set to experience another spell of changing weather as a new Western Disturbance becomes active from today. The Bikaner division and four adjoining districts are expected to witness cloudy skies by evening, with possibilities of strong winds, light rain, and hailstorms at some locations.

According to the Meteorological Centre, Jaipur, March 20 will see the most significant impact of this weather shift. Twelve districts, including Jaipur, are likely to witness thunderstorms, rain, and hailstorm activity. The agriculture department has issued a special advisory for farmers to safeguard their Rabi crops, particularly those stored in open fields or marketplaces.
Weather Conditions Over the Past 24 Hours
The last 24 hours remained dry and sunny across most parts of Rajasthan. However, light clouds were observed in Jaisalmer and border areas by late evening. The maximum temperature rose by 2°C, with Barmer recording the highest at 36.9°C. Other major temperature readings include:
- Jaisalmer – 35.3°C
- Bikaner – 33.0°C
- Churu & Udaipur – 32.0°C
- Jodhpur – 34.6°C
- Kota – 32.9°C
- Ajmer – 32.5°C
- Jaipur – 32.0°C (Max), 16.9°C (Min)
Due to cold winds from the northern regions, minimum temperatures dropped below 15°C in 17 cities. The lowest temperature was recorded in Sikar at 10.5°C, followed by:
- Churu – 14.7°C
- Nagaur – 12.7°C
- Baran – 11.3°C
- Alwar – 13.5°C

The Meteorological Department has issued a Yellow Alert due to the impact of the Western Disturbance. Wind speeds are expected to reach 40 km/h, accompanied by lightning, cloudy skies, rain, and possible hailstorms in some areas. Similar weather conditions are expected to persist on March 20, prompting cautionary measures for residents and farmers alike.
