New Delhi, October 7 (Udaipur Kiran): A joint team of the South-East District Special Staff and the Gurugram Crime Branch shot dead notorious criminal Bhim Mahabahadur Jora in an encounter late Monday night. The 39-year-old, a resident of Lalpur in Kailali district, Nepal, was wanted in multiple serious cases including murder, robbery, and dacoity across several states.

According to Dr. Hemant Tiwari, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South-East District), the police received a tip-off on Monday night about Jora’s presence near the Delhi-Haryana border. He was a key suspect in the May 2024 Jangpura case, involving the murder and robbery of Dr. Paul.
Acting on the information, a joint team led by Inspector Rajendra Singh Dagar laid a trap in the area. Around 12:20 a.m., when the police tried to corner Jora, he opened fire, discharging six rounds at the team. The police retaliated with five rounds, during which Jora sustained serious injuries. He was rushed to AIIMS Trauma Centre, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
From the encounter site, police recovered a sophisticated automatic pistol, live cartridges, three empty shells, and a bag containing burglary tools.
Officials said Bhim Jora was a key member of a nationwide gang, operating across Delhi, Gurugram, Gujarat, and Bengaluru, with several cases registered against him. A reward of ₹50,000 had been announced for his arrest.
