Dehradun, May 2: The Uttarakhand government has initiated strict actions against land fraud cases. Commissioner of Garhwal Division, Vinay Shankar Pandey, announced that under the directives of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, a committee formed to address land fraud has reviewed 104 cases.
Commissioner Pandey stated, “During the meeting on April 6, the Chief Minister clearly instructed that there should be no leniency in cases of land fraud. After a thorough investigation, orders have been issued to file FIRs in 24 cases.”
He explained that the fraudulent activities include selling land without ownership rights, preparing fake documents, selling more land than actually owned, and deceiving by showing encroachment in land records. Pandey also mentioned that 44 cases have been resolved, with some pending in court and others where the complainants were satisfied.
The government has also introduced a new transparent system. Individuals whose cases are resolved are being sent written notifications detailing the date of application receipt, actions taken by the committee, and the final outcomes. Commissioner Pandey highlighted this as a significant step towards ensuring transparency.
Additionally, Chief Minister’s Additional Secretary Banshidhar Tiwari reported after a review meeting in Pauri district that as per the Chief Minister’s announcement, hostels will be constructed in every block of the state, prioritizing schools with the highest student numbers. A separate hostel for girls has also been decided.
While enforcing strict measures against illegal constructions, Tiwari stated that demolition campaigns are ongoing wherever illegal constructions are reported. A list of illegal constructions is being uploaded on the MDDDA website for public access.
The Uttarakhand government is continuously monitoring issues related to land fraud, illegal encroachments, and unauthorized constructions. Under the guidance of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the administration is acting swiftly in these matters, aiming to provide justice to the common people and improve the investment climate in the state.
