Udaipur, May 13: The Department of Supplies in Udaipur conducted a special inspection campaign at fuel stations on Wednesday, taking action against those found manipulating measurements. During the inspection, a case of short delivery of petrol and diesel was identified at one fuel pump, leading to the immediate closure of two nozzles. Another fuel station was fined for violating regulations.
This operation was carried out under the directives of Food and Consumer Minister Sumit Godara, in accordance with the Legal Metrology Act of 2009 and the Rajasthan Legal Metrology (Enforcement) Rules of 2011. The inspection team included Bhupraj Jatav, Assistant Controller of the Legal Metrology Department, and Inspector Himani Singh Solanki.
The team inspected several fuel stations, including R.K. Fuel in Sukher, Dighaj Fuel in Fatehpur, Karni Roop Services at Patel Circle, KSV Filling Station on Bali Cha Bypass Road, and Salasar Indian Oil Petrol Pump in the Madri industrial area.
Irregularities in short delivery were found at Karni Roop Services, where consumers were receiving less petrol and diesel than the prescribed amount. The department promptly shut down two nozzles at this station.
Additionally, R.K. Fuel was found to be violating various sections of the Legal Metrology Act, as necessary certificates were not displayed publicly. The department imposed fines of ₹2,000 on both stations, totaling ₹4,000.
Inspector Himani Singh Solanki stated that the aim of the campaign is to ensure consumers receive accurate measurements and to protect their rights. The department plans to continue such inspections across the district to prevent any irregularities at fuel stations.
