Udaipur, March 5, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran): The alleged objectionable video case involving a city BJP woman leader and some party leaders took a fresh turn on Wednesday after the Police Headquarters in Jaipur changed the investigating officer.

As per directions from the Police Headquarters, Girwa Deputy Gopal Chandel has been removed from the investigation. The responsibility has now been handed over to ASP Headquarters Udaipur, Gopal Swaroop Mewara.
The change in the investigating officer is seen as increasing the difficulties of the alleged BJP leaders named in the video case, as well as BJP workers accused of vandalising the house of advocate Vishal Gurjar.
The case was registered on February 11 at 10:55 pm following a complaint by the BJP woman leader, alleging that an objectionable video was created using AI and that she was being blackmailed. Soon after the FIR, the accused advocate Vishal Gurjar was arrested in what was described as a swift, film-style operation led by Deputy Gopal Chandel.
However, CCTV footage later surfaced showing a person resembling Gogunda BJP leader Kishan Meghwal along with Deputy Chandel. Some youths carrying crowbars and hammers were also seen moving in and out.
Leader of Opposition Tikaram Jully raised serious questions in the Assembly regarding the police’s functioning in the matter and demanded a thorough probe and strict action from Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma.
Following these developments, the state government acted by changing the investigating officer, indicating the possibility of stricter action in the case.
