JAIPUR, July 29: The Rajasthan Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday arrested a personal assistant posted in the office of the Additional District Collector (Jaipur East) while allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹1 lakh from a complainant during a trap operation.

The accused, Mukesh Kumar, was caught red-handed by the ACB’s Jaipur Rural unit following directions from the ACB Headquarters.
Bribe Allegedly Sought to Clear Bills
According to ACB Director General of Police Govind Gupta, the bureau had received a complaint alleging that Mukesh Kumar had demanded a ₹1.5 lakh bribe for clearing pending bills related to the complainant’s firm, which had supplied vehicles for government examinations.
The complainant alleged that the accused was repeatedly harassing him for the payment.
Complaint Verified Before Trap
The ACB carried out a confidential verification of the complaint, during which the alleged demand for the bribe was confirmed.
Following the verification, a trap team was constituted under the supervision of Deputy Inspector General of Police Dr. Rameshwar Singh, with Additional Superintendent of Police Sunil Sihag overseeing the operation and Inspector Devendra Prasad Sharma leading the team.
Accused Arrested Inside Office
During the operation, the trap team caught Mukesh Kumar allegedly accepting ₹1 lakh from the complainant inside his office chamber. He was arrested on the spot.
Investigation Underway
The ACB said further questioning of the accused is being conducted under the supervision of Additional Director General of Police Smita Srivastava and Inspector General of Police S. Parimala.
