Udaipur, April 3 – Under the directive of Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, the Udaipur district administration and police launched a special crackdown against illegal mining activities. A coordinated effort led to the seizure of nine vehicles transporting illegally mined sand and stones, along with the confiscation of over 600 tons of illegally stored river sand.

Swift Action Across Multiple Police Stations
District Collector Namit Mehta and Superintendent of Police Yogesh Goyal are spearheading the anti-mining operation across various police station jurisdictions in Udaipur. The joint campaign is being carried out by the police, mining department, and transport authorities.
Mining Engineer Asif Ansari confirmed the following actions:
Ogna Police intercepted three tractor-trolleys carrying illegally mined sand.
Jhadol Police seized one sand-laden tractor-trolley.
Panarwa Police detained another tractor-trolley engaged in illegal transportation.
Gogunda Police confiscated 600 tons of illegally stored river sand from government land near Samija village.
Sayra Police seized a sand-filled dumper.
Bhindar Police took into custody three tractor-trolleys transporting stones illegally and detained the drivers involved.
Ongoing Enforcement to Deter Illegal Mining
Ansari stated that the campaign will continue aggressively in coordination with the district administration, police, mining department, and transport officials. The authorities have committed to strict enforcement measures to curb environmental damage and bring offenders to justice.
