Bengaluru, October 24 (Udaipur Kiran): Two people were killed and three others sustained serious injuries in a road accident on the Tumakuru-Bengaluru National Highway early Friday morning after a car collided with a lorry moving ahead of it.

According to reports, a Maruti car carrying a family from Rona in Gadag district to Narayana Hospital in Bengaluru rammed into a lorry near T. Begur. Preliminary investigations suggest that the accident occurred after the lorry driver applied sudden emergency brakes, leading to the collision.
The deceased have been identified as Shivaling Gowda (60) and Pramila (55), both of whom died on the spot. The three other family members travelling in the car were seriously injured and have been shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The Nelamangala Traffic Police visited the accident site and registered a case. Traffic on the national highway was disrupted for some time following the mishap.
